Energi Fyn is a modern and prosperous energy concern, in the form of a cooperative society owned by its consumers. Energy Fyn’s Board of Representatives, elected from among its 165,000 members, is the concern's highest authority. The main aim of the concern is to guarantee its members low electricity prices, certainty of supply and good service, and to participate actively in the development of a sustainable energy system. Energi Fyn is also involved in developing Funen through investment in fibre-optic networks, research and the environment, as well as through funds - all to the benefit of Fyn and for their members.
CEO for Energi Fyn, and Chairman of the Board for Fionia Lighting A/S, Bent Agerholm is pleased with the cooperation between Energi Fyn and the University of Southern Denmark, which forms the basis for the company. “It is Energi Fyn’s vision to be involved in promoting the business sector on Funen, and we can see great future potential for Fionia Lighting in relation to this,” said Bent Agerholm in connection with the presentation of the Climate Award 2009 to Fionia Lighting by the Danish Minister for Climate and Energy, Connie Hedegaard.
In 2008, Energy Fyn celebrated its 100th anniversary. In the same year, the fusion of Energi Fyn and Odense Energy resulted in Energi Fyn becoming the sixth largest electricity company in Denmark, based on number of customers, with a total of 270 employees.
